    Summary

    The Sr. Unit Manager is responsible for managing the investigation and resolution process for all contacts received from consumers, credit bureaus, debt management agencies and law offices for all lines of business. The incumbent will manage the process of notices via third-party sources regarding bankruptcy, military orders and disasters, complying with regulations, laws and internal policies and procedures. The Sr. Unit Manager is responsible for managing team performance, as well as leading or assisting in developing new solutions and processes to improve efficiency, effectiveness and quality outcomes.  

    Responsibilities

    As our Sr. Unit Manager you will:

    • Manages a team of Back Office professionals to promptly investigate and respond to all contacts made through all channels.
    • Complies with all applicable regulations and internal policies and procedures. Achieves established service levels and quality metrics for all assigned work.
    • Leads a high performance team through effective employee engagement and development of talent. Demonstrates effective delegation and empowerment of staff.  Responsible for the administration of staffing, training, performance appraisals, development planning, coaching, promotions, salary actions and terminations. 
    • Ensures that all processes are adequately controlled and documented; policies and procedures are effective and consistent across all areas of responsibility; and that an effective management monitoring program is in place and functioning.
    • Responsible for developing and implementing new solutions, technologies and strategies (policies and procedures) to ensure compliance with all regulatory laws and internal policies and procedures.
    • Adapts to changes in the work environment; manages competing demands; changes approach or method to best fit the situation; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
    • Consults with project managers, product developers, and line of business managers to help identify gaps in processes and drive improvements.
    • Responsible for IA/Compliance or Partner bank audits, ensuring appropriate responses are completed timely and with proper oversight.

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
    • Four to six years of experience in the credit profession in a management capacity.
    • Prior experience with project management in a financial services field.
    • Knowledge of credit rules, regulations, and laws.
    • Demonstrated track record of developing high performing teams.
    • Ability to problem solve based on strong analytical and technical skills.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Excellent decision making and problem solving skills.

    Essential Functions:

    You must meet work deadlines, have regular attendance, good oral and written communication skills, good interpersonal skills, ability to work with a team, ability to multi-task, use a PC and a computer terminal, and the specialized telephone system. This position requires access to all areas of the office, and the ability to sit for extended periods of time, periodically bending and twisting, and frequent application of a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.  You must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
